October 13, 1919 –  April 10, 2008  Funeral Services for John Woodie Allen, 88, will be held 10 a.m. Monday, April 14, 2008 at Meador Funeral Home Chapel with James Snyder officiating. Interment, with Military Honors, will be held the same day at 2 p.m. at the Dallas/Fort Worth National Cemetery.
Mr. Allen passed away Thursday, April 10, 2008 at his residence in Sherwood Shores.

He was born on Oct. 13, 1919 in Winnsboro, Texas to Walter and Lela (Alexander) Allen. He was a combat veteran of WW II in the U.S. Army. He married Edith White on Oct. 19, 1946 in Dallas, Texas.
He was a printing pressman by profession.

Survivors include his wife, Edith Allen of Sherwood Shores; two daughters, Phyllis Andrews and husband Gary of Arlington and Candise Terry and husband Richard of Sherwood Shores; a son, Gregory Allen and wife Terri of Flower Mound; a brother, Lollis Allen; 11 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, two sisters and a granddaughter, Courtney Allen.

Pallbearers will be: Ryan Hebisen, Clint Hebisen, Justin Allen, Nathan Shutze, Clark Driver, Michael Splawn, Chip Wood, Coby Harrison and Steven Harris.
