April 8, 1927 –  March 19, 2013  GAINESVILLE – Graveside services for Jessie Ruth Dennis, 85, will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 22, 2013 at the Sharrock Cemetery near Walnut Bend under the direction of Meador-Clement-Keel Funeral Home in Gainesville. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
Jessie passed away on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at Pecan Tree Manor Nursing Home in Gainesville.

She was born on April 8, 1927 in Whitesboro to George F. and Aurelia Josephine (Dyess) Jarrell. She married Herbert D. Evans on Jan. 14, 1943 in Gainesville. She had worked as an assember for Weber Aircraft for 15 years. She was also an excellent seamstress, working for Frankie Schmitz. She was a member of Bible Baptist Church, loved going to the lake, and was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother.

Survivors include a son, Carlton R. Evans of Ft. Davis; 2 daughters, Linda Hair of Saint Jo and Toni Koonce of Thackerville, OK; 2 sisters, Lillie Rogers of Gainesville and Dorothy Pieplow of San Antonio; a brother, Bill Jarrell of Gainesville; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son, Herbert L. Evans; 2 brothers, George F. Jarrell, Jr. and Pinkney Jarrell; and a sister, Willie Rankin.
