February 6, 1928 –  February 16, 2016  Funeral Services for James “Carlos” Brady, Jr. 88, of Gordonville, will be held Saturday, February 20, 2016, at 3:00 p.m. at Meador Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rick Carney officiating. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held at First Baptist Church, Gordonville, Friday, February 19, 2016, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. He passed away Tuesday, February 16, 2016, with his family by his side. He was born to James Carlos Brady, Sr. and Flora (Baker) Brady on February 6, 1928, in Gordonville, Texas. His biggest accomplishment was marrying Emma Jane (Pitts) Brady on August 26, 1950, in Gainesville, Texas and they were married for 65 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Gordonville, and had served as a Deacon. He was a 32nd Degree Mason of the Masonic Lodge #536 A.F. & A.M. for 60 years. Carlos received an Award of Merit to Noble from Hella Temple Director’s Staff and an Award from Nobles of the Mystic Shrine for North America. He was a Shriner, Eastern Star Past Patron and was a member of York Scottish Rite. He served as a Foreman of Pct. #4 and as a County Commissioner of Precinct #4 in Grayson County for twenty years. He was past president of the North East Commissioner and Judges Association; Pct. 19 Election Judge, was on the Board of Directors for the First National Bank of Whitesboro and was a past school Trustee in Gordonville. Carlos was also involved in the design and planning of the Justice Center in Sherman. He is survived by his wife, Jane Brady of Gordonville; daughter, Karen Bomar and husband, Terry of Sadler; grandchildren, J. C. Bomar and wife, Lauren of Sadler, and Sarah McKinney, and husband, Clayton of Celina; 4 great-grandchildren, Brayden, Aybrea, Jace and Emma.Pallbearers will be J. C. Bomar, Clayton McKinney, Keith Hughes, Brandon Hughes, Michael Graham and Horace Groff. He was preceded in death by his parents, James C. and Flora Brady; son, Mike Brady and sister, Freda Boston. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Grayson Home Hospice, 505 W. Center St., Sherman, TX 75090; Texas Scottish Rite Hospital, 2222 Welborne St., Dallas, TX 75219, and the American Cancer Society, P. O. Box 22478, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73123.
