June 9, 1925 –  August 1, 2014  Gainesville resident Irene Oman, 89, passed away Friday, August 1, 2014 at her residence in Gainesville. She was born on June 9, 1925 in Mena, Arkansas. On February 24, 1946, Irene married John Oman in Dallas, Texas. Irene was a caring woman, who loved to reminisce about the past with her family members. Funeral services for Irene Oman will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at Meador-Clement-Keel Funeral Home Chapel in Gainesville. Interment will follow at New Rest Haven Cemetery in Gainesville. Visitation will be 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Monday, August 4, 2014 at the funeral home.
Survivors include son, Charlie Oman and wife, Brenda; a grandson, Nathan Hartman; a granddaughter, Andrea Lynn Garza and husband, Joe; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by husband, John Oman, and daughter, Shirley Hobbs.
