Faye Marie Owen, 88, of Gainesville, Texas passed away on October 14, 2018, at her home surrounded by loved ones. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 17, 2018, at 10:00 a.m., at the Meador Funeral Home Chapel, Gainesville, Texas. Visitation will be on Tuesday, October 16, 2018, from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm. Interment will be held at Fairview Cemetery, Gainesville, Texas.

She was born on March 14, 2930, in Gainesville, Texas, to Ernest Howard Martin and Rena May (Baker) Martin. Faye married Edgar Eugene Owen on July 5, 1968, in Lake Dallas, Texas, and remained married until his death in 2015.

She was a member of the Southside Baptist Church and their choir for forty-three years and has been in our community since 1975. She retired from Gainesville school cafeteria and later returned and worked until she was 80 years old. Faye also enjoyed cooking, crossword puzzles, and traveling.

Faye was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister and friend.

She is survived by sons, Steve Killgo of Denison, Texas; Martin Lee Grissom (Pam) of Gainesville, Texas; daughters Brenda Evans of Bradenton, Florida; Barbara White (Larry) of Plano, Texas; Lisa Burkhart (Greg) of Gainesville, Texas; Pam Craft (Jimmy) of Thackerville, Texas; Patty Harp (Johnny) of Ada, Oklahoma; Carol Nunn (Luke) Gainesville, Texas; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother Pete Martin (Betty) of Abilene, Texas; sisters Martha Davidson (Dave) of Sherman, Texas; Lucille Center of Whitesboro, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her husband Gene, two children, eight siblings and one grandchild.
