June 6, 1924 –  April 26, 2015  Emma Jo (Talbott) West passed away on Sunday, April 26, 2015 in Gainesville surrounded by her loving family. She was born June 6, 1924 to Joe and Ruby Talbott east of Gainesville, Texas. Emma Jo received her B.A at Southeastern State in Durant, Oklahoma in 1947. Later she received her Master’s Degree from North Texas State University (UNT) in 1963. She married Weldon West May 27, 1948. She loved flower gardening and cooking for family and friends. Her beautiful yard always revealed her love for nature. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Gainesville where she taught Sunday School for many years. Mrs. West taught elementary school for thirty-eight years in Texas and Oklahoma.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 30th at Temple Baptist Church with Dr. Eddie Chennault and Rev. Larry Huffman officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery with church deacons serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be 10:00 to 11:00 Thursday at the church. Services are under the direction of Meador Funeral Home in Gainesville.

Survivors include her husband of over sixty-six years, Weldon West; son, Tim West; daughter and son-in-law, Sue and Ed Carrigan and numerous other family members. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Loyd Talbott in 1999. http://videos.lifetributes.com/591164
