Pilot Point – Charles “Chuck” Jesse Gleaves went to be with our Lord on October 25, 2018. We find peace in his passing knowing he joined his son, Steven Douglas Gleaves, mother Barbara Louise Omstead Gleaves, father Edward Leonidas Gleaves, and sister Donna in heaven. Chuck believed in forgiveness and eternal salvation through Jesus Christ.

Chuck was born in Van Alstyne, Texas on August 6, 1956. He attended Howe High School where he discovered his love for the rodeo and actively competed in riding bareback horses and team roping for many years. Chuck spent time as an Associate pastor at Luella First Baptist Church where he led both Prison and Nursing Home ministries. Like his father, he was an avid outdoorsman throughout his life. He was resilient, resourceful and determined, which helped him live a full and independent life as a paraplegic for the last 30 years.

Chuck is survived by his son, Charley Gleaves and wife Jacquelyn, and grandson Boots of Indianapolis, Indiana; daughter Sarah Louise Spence and husband Justin of Austin, Texas; brother James “Jimmy” Gleaves of Sherman, Texas; sister Karen Brabant and husband David of Canyon Lake, California; and many nieces, nephews and cousins who have always loved him.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, November 26, 2018 at Mount Tabor cemetery in Sandusky, Texas at 2:00 P.M. Services are under the direction of Meador Funeral Home in Whitesboro.
