January 19, 1926 –  August 22, 2009  WHITESBORO â?? Funeral Services for Bobbie Rae Huff, 83, will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2009 at Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Whitesboro with Rev. Mike Flanagan and Rev. Harold Watson officiating. Interment will follow in Macomb Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 7 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2009 at the funeral home.
Bobbie passed away on Saturday, Aug. 22, 2009 at the Whitesboro Nursing Home.

Bobbie was born on Jan. 19, 1926 in Collinsville to Ray and Lucille (Craft) Hood. She graduated from Whitesboro High School in 1945. During High School, she worked at Camp Howze, Wootenâ??s Drug Store and the â??picture showâ? at night. She married J.P. Huff on Feb. 28, 1947 in Whitesboro. She worked at Nolandâ??s Insurance Agency for 12 years before the birth of her only child, son Ronald, in 1958.

Bobbie was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Whitesboro where she was a devoted member of the choir and a long-time Sunday School teacher. She was honored in 2008 for teaching the children in the 3 and 4 year old Sunday School Class for 48 years. In 1996, the Contemporary Womanâ??s Club recognized her as â??Woman of the Yearâ? for her many years of service to children in the church. She was faithful to her prayer and had a special gift to connect with young children and teach them about Godâ??s love. Bobbie also loved spending her days working in her yard. â??Miss Bobbieâ? touched many generations of children through her work in the church. She will be remembered by those who loved her by her faithfulness to God.

Survivors include her son, Ronald Ray Huff and wife, Gretchen of Sherman; 2 granddaughters, Lauren and Meredith Huff of Sherman; 4 brothers, Johnny Hood and wife, Tootsie of Marietta, Oklahoma, Billy W. Hood of Stockton, California, Gene Hood and wife, Doris of Ozona, and Tommy Hood and wife, Joyce of Whitesboro; 3 sisters, Margie Pinion of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Jo Ann McMullen of Arlington, and Martha Gessick of McKinney; a brother-in-law, Dr. Gene Huff and wife, Gwen of Whitesboro; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, J.P. Huff, parents, Ray and Bobbie Hood, a brother, Charles Hood, and 2 sisters, Catherine Eidd and Judy Vickery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church Childrenâ??s Ministry in Whitesboro.

Deacons of First Baptist Church will serve as pallbearers.
