December 5, 1917 –  September 24, 2010  COLLINSVILLE- Funeral services for Bertie May “Nanny” (Cox) Roberts , 92, will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday, September 27, 2010 at First Baptist Church in Collinsville with Rev. Jerry Davis officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Collinsville. Services are under the direction of Meador Funeral Home in Whitesboro. Visitation will be from 6 P.M. until 8 P.M. Sunday, September 26, 2010 at the funeral home.
“Nanny” went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Friday, September 24, 2010 at her home in Collinsville, surrounded by her loving family.

Bertie May was born to Alex John and Bertha Alfred (Williams) Cox on December 5, 1917 in Cooke County, Texas. She married Jasper Edwin Roberts on March 28, 1936. “Nanny” worked as a Nurses Aid as well as at the Linda Jo Shoe Company in Gainesville for 21 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Collinsville.

Survivors include; a daughter, Louise Mills and husband Chuck of Collinsville; 3 sons, John Roberts of Sherman, Charles Roberts and wife Debbie of Collinsville and Gene Roberts of Collinsville; 24 grandchildren, 60 great-grandchildren and 32 great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Clyde Cox of Collinsville; 2 sisters, Gracie Ridinger of Lewisville and Edna Belle Tyler of Gainesville.

“Nanny” was preceded in death by her husband, Jasper Roberts; 2 sons, Glen Edwin Roberts and Raymond Carl Roberts; 2 grandsons, Jacob Roberts and Chuck Roberts and a great-grandson, Damon Hammer.

Pallbearers are; Joe Bledsoe, Dan Brown, Rick Hendricks, Gene Henderson, Keith Meyer and Roger McDaniel.
