Virginia Trotter, 89, of Whitesboro passed away peacefully on October 31, 2020 at Celebration Senior Living in Denison.

Virginia was born on July 7, 1931 in Dorchester to Vance and Mattie (Pearce) Long.  She met and married Paul Trotter on January 3, 1947 in Gainesville.  They were married 64 years until his passing in 2011.

After raising six children she entered Grayson College to pursue her lifelong dream of becoming a registered nurse.  She received her degree in two years and chose to work at WNJ in the Emergency Department.  She loved being a nurse.  She loved helping others and she was loved by all who knew her.

In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Jesse Long, sister, Joyce Hubler and daughter, Paula Wornhor.

Surviving are daughters, Deborah (jerry) Copeland of Deadwood, TX; Jackie Nyala (Bruce) Williams of LaVernia, TX; sons, Wayne and Paul David of Pottsboro and Robert of Howe. Twelve grandchildren, 26 great-grands and 4 ½ great-great-grands.

A celebration of life is planned for a later date.
