Van Maston Tilley, 86, of Gordonville, Texas was called to his eternal home on Saturday, March 1, 2025.

Van was born on July 13, 1938 in Guadalupe County to William Angelo and Edith Olivia (Ussery) Tilley.  He served proudly in the United States Army and while serving, Van met and married the love of his life, Karen Jane Hietala on February 23, 1963 in South Carolina after several chance meetings and a whirlwind courtship. Together they raised two sons and after retiring they moved to the Gordonville area.  Van worked and retired from LTV Aerospace.  In retirement he enjoyed woodworking, clock making and gardening in addition to traveling, fishing and working puzzles.

He is survived by his son, Jaret Tilley and wife, Katie of Ft. Worth; son, Glenn Tilley of Dallas; grandchildren, Rolf Tilley, and Eric Tilley, brother, William Tilley, sister, Linda Morgan, brother, Richard Tilley, and brother-in-law, Glenn Hietala, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Van was preceded in death by his parents, William and Edith Tilley, wife, Karen Tilley, and brother, Tom Tilley.

Graveside services honoring Van will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, March 6, 2025 at Highsmith Cemetery in Luling, Texas,
