Shirley ‘Jean’ Tidwell, 86 of Valley View died on Tuesday, March 30, 2021, in Denton, TX. Services are set for 1 p.m. on Monday, April 12 at Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Gainesville TX. Visitation: 12-1 p.m. Monday, prior to the service.
Shirley ‘Jean’ Tidwell was born October 27, 1934, in Paris TX to Tommy and Gertrude Risinger. She married Norman Tidwell on Sept. 5, 1953. They raised a family in Euless, TX, where they resided for more than 40 years. Jean and Norman were married for over 50 years. After retirement as an executive assistant at Precept, Inc. in 1980, Jean enjoyed painting, designing and building 2 homes, her love of animals and most of all her children and grandchildren.
Jean is survived by her children; Norma Alexander, Linda Russell and husband, Mike, Beverly Stephens, Gary Tidwell and wife, Trang. Six grandchildren, Stephen Alexander (Rebecca), John Alexander (Claudine), Melissa Carroll (Aaron), Julie, Grant and Sam Tidwell and 8 great-grandchildren, Zach, Josh, Jacob Alexander, Aidan Alexander and Paris, Emma, Avery Carroll and Chelsie Kincaid, sister-in-law, Ann Risinger, daughter in law, Karen Tidwell, along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband Norman, her parents Tommy and Gertrude, her sister Rosalie Beeman and her brother Thomas Wayne Risinger.
