Sherry Sue Bettis was born on December 8, 1958 in Houston Texas and went to be with her Lord Jesus on July 15, 2024 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

She was preceded in death by her mother Nancy Rhea (Duke) Bettis, and her cousin Randy Green.

She is survived by her father, Joe Bettis and sister and brother-in-law Nanette and Richard Curtis. Her nephew, Josh and niece, Leah were very special to their Aunt Sherry. As well as her aunt Carol Gallagher and cousins, Tammy Green, Elizabeth Jane McKay and Peggy Low.

Sherry had many adversities during her life but made the best of what life through at her, especially following a stroke in 2008 and then breast cancer in 2022.

We want to thank the amazing staff who cared for Sherry at Kane Regional Care Facility in Pittsburgh (Ross Twp) for the past 6 years. Sherry considered Kane her home. She found her place and her people there. She was well LOVED and KNOWN by everyone. She was “Miss Sherry”; VERY independent, stubborn (sometimes creating a ruckus), funny, blowing kisses, loved to shop in the gift shop and smoke. There are so many to thank; the nursing staff and aids who always referred to Sherry as “my girl”, Ron in Security who read scripture and prayed with Sherry, MaryBeth who was always interceding on Sherry’s behalf, and a special thanks to Mike Gigler, who assisted her and became her friend.

She will have a private family burial besider her mother in Whitesboro, Texas.

“Come home! Come home! All who are weary, come home!  Earnestly, tenderly, Jesus is calling.  Calling O sinner, come home!”
