Sharon Swadley-Zachary-Williams of Gainesville, went to be with her Lord and Savior on March 10, 2023. She was surrounded by her loved ones with praise and worship music playing in the background. Sharon was the epitome of Christian living, a loving mother, a devoted wife and a doting Grammy. She loved all and loved deeply. Sharon was a member of the Gainesville Bible Church and with many ties to Tabernacle Baptist Church. She retired from managing the North Central Texas College Bookstore where she worked for years with many loved coworkers she called friends.
Sharon was preceded in death by her late husband Randy Zachary in 1989, leaving her as a single parent of two where she embraced and excelled with the role. Also preceding her in death were her parents J.D. Swadley and Carolyn Swadley-Smith.
Survivors include her loving husband of 21 years, Alan Keith Williams of Gainesville, her daughter Keesha Zachary-Tolbert and husband Junior Tolbert of Arkansas, her son Toby Zachary and wife Jenny of Highland Village, step son Brian Williams and wife Cathy, step daughter Alice Williams all of California, sister Trena Walker (and husband Tom) of Iowa, and many other loved in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews. She adored her grand-children and was the best Grammy to Sydnee (and husband Austin), Savana, Stella, Gretta, Alyssa, Miranda and Brandon.
She was loved by all that knew her and her grace and strength she showed throughout her life and last days is credit to the amazing, Christian person she was. She will be so greatly missed and her love and life will be carried on with her legacy in her children and grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at Gainesville Bible Church on Tuesday, March 21st at 10:00 am and she will be laid to rest at a later date by immediate family at Nelson Grove Cemetery. Charitable donations can be made to Samaritan’s Purse.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Meador Funeral Home of Gainesville. At this time no services are scheduled.
I’ve known Sharon for a long time and it would be difficult to find a person like Sharon. She was funny, positive and had a heart of gold
