Sharon Jo Pennington was called home to our Lord on the morning of December 28, 2021, from her newfound and much-loved home in Gainesville, Texas.
Sheri was born January 31, 1939, in Hollywood, California to Jack John Davin and Arlene Jennie Meredith.
She graduated from Bonita High School in La Verne, CA, and attended college at Mount San Antonio. After moving to Albuquerque, NM, to pursue public sector work, she met and married Paul Herbert Moore, a police detective, and her first husband and father to her only son, Patrick Hiram Moore.
Her profession centered around legal secretarial work and she excelled at every endeavor, being known for her excellence and speed in tasks and thoroughness and creativity in administration.
Sheri became a Pennington when she married inventor and pilot, Charles Pennington, in the early 2000’s and survived him after nearly 12 years of happy marriage.
She fulfilled many of her life expectations with family, travel, her professional work, and her love and appreciation for antiques, and the preserving of history.
She is survived by her son, Patrick and their shared love and respect for God Almighty and the great nation that respected the freedom He blessed us with. She is fondly remembered and deeply missed.
A viewing will be held for Sharon on Thursday, January 6, 2022, from 6-8 PM at the Meador Funeral Home in Gainesville. The funeral will be on Friday, January 7, 2022, from 2-3 PM at the Mount Zion Cemetery in Thackerville, OK.
Any condolences may be sent to 720 N Commerce St, Ardmore, OK 73401. Donations in her name can be made to your local food bank or animal shelter.
Love Love Love
What a beautiful and interesting memorial story of Sharon’s life. I am sure she will be missed by her son, Patrick, as well as by her friends, and by Patrick and Jeanette’s fog, Cali, who spent happy hours with Sharon in California.
“Perhaps they are not the stars, but rather openings in heaven where the love of our lost ones pours through and shines down upon us to let us know they are happy.”
RIP Sherri
From Lord of The Rings :
PIPPIN: I didn’t think it would end this way.
GANDALF: End? No the journey does not end here. Death is just another path, one that we all must take. The grey rain-curtain of this world rolls back, and all turns to silver glass.
PIPPIN: What? Gandalf? See what?
GANDALF: White shores and beyond, a far green country under a swift sunrise.
PIPPIN: Well that ain’t so bad.
GANDALF: No. No, it isn’t .
Sharon, thanks for being a ray of sunshine in this beautiful world. You will be missed. ????
So sorry for your loss Patrick! She must have been a wonderful person to have raised such a person as you! Many prayers for you and your entire family to find peace.
So sorry to hear of Sheri’s passing. She was a loving step-mom to me and my 5 siblings (Charlies’ kids). My hugs and condolences to Patrick in this time of grief. Know she is in God’s loving hands now and having a grand time.
Love, Jan Pennington Wilder
