December 30, 1937 –  March 30, 2017  Funeral Services for Ruby A. Johnson, 79 of Whitesboro, Texas will be held Saturday, April 1, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Meador Funeral Home Chapel, Whitesboro, Texas with Hank Lovejoy officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Zion North Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service at 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Ruby passed away at her daughter’s home in Whitesboro on Thursday, March 30th with her family by her side.She was born to Hassell and Cora (Matthews) Alexander on December 30, 1937 in Sherman, Texas. She was of the Presbyterian Faith. Ruby worked at Weber Aircraft for over 25 years as an aircraft inspector. Her hobby was her family, especially her grandchildren. She was an avid bird watcher and loved to garden. Her friends called her, “the sweetest and most kind lady in the world”. Ruby loved all sports: football, basketball, baseball and hockey.
She is survived by her daughters, Starla Riddle and her husband, Dale of Whitesboro and Katrina Johnson and Shaz Hill of Oklahoma City; sons, Ben W. Johnson of Whitesboro and Rocky Johnson and wife, Maggie of Sherman; grandchildren, Ben H. Johnson, Jr. and wife, Kelli, Ethan Johnson, Anthony Johnson, Haley Johnson, Jaimie & Kovi Blauner, Melissa Peirson, and Summer Hill; great-grandchildren, Moises Hernandez III, Jonah Z. Taylor and Makenzie Coyner.
Special others who meant a lot to Ruby is her nephew, Joe Alexander and wife, Debra of Valley, Alabama, Rhynah and Lesa Apple of Whitesboro and Bryan James of Sherman.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Hassell and Cora Alexander and a daughter, Tonya Johnson and brothers, Charles C. Alexander and Delbert Alexander.
