Royce “Paul” Alexander, 81, of Calera, OK, passed away on January 28, 2024 peacefully in his sleep at home with his wife by his side.
Paul was born on February 6, 1942 to Lillian Ellis and Armour Paul Alexander in Whitesboro, TX. In 1961, Paul met Martha at Weber’s Drive-Inn, in Grand Prairie TX. Paul and Martha were married that same year and had been married for 62 years. Paul started his career at Gifford Hill Pipe Company in Grand Prairie in 1957 as a ditch digger. At one point he left the pipe company and went to work for Miller Brewing. After about 10 years he went back to Gifford Hill and went on to retire as Plant Superintendent in 2006.
Paul was close to his extended family and enjoyed dancing, playing dominoes, bowling, golfing, and going to the lake to fish. After retirement Paul enjoyed bowling, riding his riding lawn mower, going to the casino, and spending time with his family.
Paul was predeceased by Mother, Lillian Ellis, Father, Armour Paul Alexander, Stepdad, Jerry Ellis. Brothers: James Leon Alexander and Jerry Dan Ellis.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Martha, daughter, Sharon Wiltshire and husband, Rich; brother, Larry Ellis; 9 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Funeral services honoring Paul will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, February 2, 2024 at Meador Funeral Home of Whitesboro, officiated by Rev. Rick Carney. Interment will follow at Dixie Cemetery. A time of visitation for family and friends will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
