Rosalee “Rosy” Harris passed from this life on Thursday, January 15, 2025 at the age of 90 after an extended period of declining health. Rosy was born to Murl Jarnagin and Maudie Doty-Jarnagin on April 30, 1934 in Joplin, Missouri.  She moved to the North Texas area at a young age, where she met O. C. Miller, and the two of them were married on March 1, 1951.  O. C. and Rosy established their home in the Dorchester, Texas area where they lived for many years.  Two daughters, Debra Lynn and Rhonda Luanne were born to O. C. and Rosy.  During her years living in Dorchester, Rosy was a frequent and gracious host to her church family at the Valley Church of Christ in Gunter, Texas and was an integral part of the life of her church family.  She frequently entertained her fellow Christians in her home and was involved in numerous charitable works.  Rosy subsequently married Belvin R. “Bill” Harris on May 7, 1976, and they resided in Gainesville, Texas until Bill’s death on December 23, 2022.  Rosy added two stepchildren to her life from her marriage to Bill: Link Harris and Elizabeth “Libbie” Harris-Zwinggi.  Rosy was an accomplished artist and leaves behind dozens of beautiful paintings that are cherished by her family as well as by others who purchased artwork from her.  She also loved gardening and spent many happy hours creating a beautiful lawn and garden at her Gainesville home.  The grounds at her home were so beautiful that people stopped to take pictures and sometimes used the grounds for outdoor weddings.  Rosy was a life-long Christian and was a long-time member of the Concord Church of Christ in Gainesville.  Consistent with the life she has always lived, she was a supporter of her church family at the Concord Church of Christ with her time, talents and money.

Rosey was preceded in death by her husband Bill; her parents; her sister, Nancy Jarnagin; and her stepdaughter, Libbie Harris-Zwinggi.  She is survived by her daughters, Debra McDaniel and husband, Dale of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Rhonda Cummings and husband, Bob of Sherman, Texas; her step-son Link Harris and wife, Vanessa of Corpus Christi, Texas; a sister, Grace Stevens of Quincy, IL; two grandchildren and numerous step-grandchildren; and a host of extended family members, friends and fellow Christians.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 17, 2025 from 6:00pm-8:00pm.  Graveside service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at Fairview Cemetery, Gainesville, Texas.
