Robert “Bubba” Simmons, 60, of Whitesboro, Texas, passed away January 5, 2025 with his family by his side.
Bubba was born on April 4, 1964 in Garland, Texas to John “Cotton” Simmons and Eva Joyce “Cravens” Simmons. In high school he played football on a team nicknamed “the dirty dozen”. He served on Whitesboro Volunteer Rescue Team and was a certified diver. Bubba worked with his dad, Cotton, and his brother, Mark, on their concrete business before starting his own welding business. He was a perfectionist in all he did. He would help anyone, anytime if they needed him. Bubba was a powerhouse no one could beat, many tried. He loved his family and was so proud of them. Bubba massively adored his grandbabies and spoiled them daily.
He is survived by his wife and partner of 40 years, Rhonda, son, Robert Colt Simmons and wife, Krystle; daughter, Phoenix Simmons; daughter, Jamie Simmons-Finch, grandbabies, Slade Finch, Arthur Simmons, Furiosa Simmons and Olivia Simmons, sister, Vicki Watson and husband, Nathan; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Bubba was preceded in death by his father, John “Cotton” Simmons, mother, Joyce Simmons, brother, Mark Simmons, cousin, Rusty Smith, and numerously loved aunts, uncles and cousins.
A Celebration of Life honoring Bubba will be held at 6:00 PM on Saturday, January 11, 2025 at Meador Funeral Home of Whitesboro.

My heart is broken. Bubba was my first friend in 1st grade in 1970 and that friendship lasted the rest of our lives. So many great memories of a wonderful friend. He will be missed. My prayers and deepest sympathy are with Rhonda and his entire family.
My thoughts and prayers for all the family. Bubba was always the life of the party.
Such a good guy that was always willing and wanting to help anybody. He has helped me too many times to count. Even at his recent job as security guard always was watching over John and my place expecting nothing in return. You will be missed greatly.
I love you, dad! You were such an amazing man. Thank you for touching my life and loving my babies and me.

I am so sorry for your loss. Cotton and Joyce raised two sweet and caring sons. I have always loved them both. Our families had so many great and fun times. Baseball was a great catalyst for our families over the years and our kids had such common interest.
May God surround each of you with His love and comfort..Bubba’s
life meant so much to so many.
Bubba would give you the shirt off his back. We will never forget the twinkle in his eye as he made us laugh with one of his stories (that often started with “You ain’t gonna believe this…”). He will be missed here, but God will certainly be welcoming him. We pray for peace and comfort for his family.

Bubba, you always were the party! I have several fond memories of you but one ‘Classic’ memory was you sitting at the laundromat in the middle of the day and I stopped to say hello and you standing by your truck with the huge smile on your face! You would have thought he was keeping the biggest secret. When I got out of my car and then realized, you actually were! That baby alligator stood out like a sore thumb. That look on your proud face was priceless! Fly high my friend you were a true blessing. Prayers to Rhonda and your family.
