Ray was a very kind and hospitable man and a great father and grandfather who loved his family. The world needs more men like him. God Bless Ray and his entire wonderful family.
I am deeply saddened by the loss of Ray. There are great memories — many business trips together and especially our regular visits to the Horseshoe Casino in Shreveport, finishing that evening by sharing the 32oz steak at the Jack Binion’s Steak House with grilled Asparagus and a bottle of wine.
Rest in peace. I’ll see you up there soon!
In my life book of heroes and villains, Ray was one of the good guys. True to his Texas roots, he was a welcoming soul with unflinching hospitality, notably taking extra care for his son. He was successful in business, and I remember working the field under the hot sun at one of his properties, demonstrating that hard honest effort pays off. He also set time for recreation by fishing, while having the ability to whip up a set of mean pork ribs. With life’s fast pace, I took for granted that he would be there tomorrow, and I do regret not keeping in touch with him as often as I should have. You will be missed, Ray.
