Paul Travis Sutton,93, of Era, TX passed away on June 11, 2024, at the Renaissance Care Center in Gainesville. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 14, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Prairie Point Nazarene Church, Rosston, Texas with grandsons, Chris Bennett and Shawn Sutton officiating. Interment will follow the service at Rosston Cemetery, with military honors and son in law, Ricky Kerr will officiate. Visitation will be held Thursday, June 13, 2024 from 6:00pm-8:00pm at the Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Gainesville.
Paul Travis was born on July 17, 1930 in Rosston, TX to Anderson Paul and Delia Richardson Sutton. He served in the United States Navy on the USS Cunningham in the Korean War. He married Loretta “Sue” Poynor on March 18, 1956 in Gainesville. Paul worked at National Supply for many years and retired as Supervisor of the Assembly Line. He was a member of the Prairie Point Nazarene Church. P.T. was also a member of the Gainesville Riding Club, loved farming and ranching, and also loved everyone especially his family.
Paul Travis is survived by his son Darrell Sutton and wife Joy; daughters Paula Kerr and husband Ricky, Karla Bennett and husband David; grandchildren and their spouses Chris and Jennifer Bennett, Bryce Bennett, Julie and Bobby Long, Cote and Ashley Sutton, Shawn and Amanda Sutton; great-grandchildren Courtney Hunter and fiancé, Spencer Flint ,Taylor Maynard and husband, Hunter, Seth Bennett and Maite Flores, Jacob Bennett, Reagan, Luke and Lane Sutton, Aspen and Anderson Paul Sutton; great-great grandchildren, Greyson and Madilyn Hunter, Everly and Mallory Sue Maynard, Liam Bennett; brother in law, Ott Kuykendall. Several nieces and nephews.
Paul is preceded in death by his wife, Sue Sutton; parents, Anderson Paul and Delia Sutton; brother, Dee Ross Sutton; sisters, Juanita Sutton Cote, Johnie Ruth Blankenship & Callie Sutton Presley; great-granddaughter Brinley Sutton.
