July 13, 1939 – November 10, 2010 WHITESBORO-Funeral services for Nancy J. (Gaddie) Fletcher, 71, will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, November 13, 2010 at Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Whitesboro, with Mike Bently and Randy Mathis officiating. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Whitesboro. Visitation will be from 6 P.M. until 8 P.M. Friday, November 12, 2010 at the funeral home.
Mrs. Fletcher passed away November 10, 2010 at her home in Whitesboro.
Nancy was born on July 13, 1939 in Sherman, Texas to Chester R. and Jewel B. (Graves) Gaddie. She married Darden Fletcher on August 11, 1961 at North Union Church of Christ in Whitesboro. Nancy had a Bachelors Degree from the University of North Texas and she had worked as a children’s librarian. She was a lifetime member of North Union Church of Christ in Whitesboro and served as the resource director and a Sunday School teacher for the 2 and 3 year olds for many years. Nancy was also a Girl Scout leader for many years.
Nancy had a passion for Scrapbooking, painting, cooking, crafting and nature photography. She was an avid genealogist, enjoyed listening to music by Josh Turner and was one of his biggest fans and she loved the Texas Rangers. The love of her life was her children and grandchildren.
She had a deep faith in God and loved sharing her faith with others.
Survivors include her husband, Darden Fletcher of Whitesboro; a daughter, Darla Lewis and husband Tim of Southmayd; 2 sons, Derek Fletcher and wife Leslie of Whitesboro and Dyfan Fletcher and wife Dusty of Red Oak; a foster sister, Saundra Hart of Quinlan; 10 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Jewel Gaddie.
Pallbearers will be: Jonathan Fletcher, Jarod Fletcher, Kenny Landis, Tim Lewis, Jack Boston and Jeff Butts.
Honorary pallbearers are: Bill Dunnam, Morris Peregrine and C.J. Vannoy.
