Michael Joe McCauley, 63, of Whitesboro, Texas was called to his eternal home on Wednesday, April 26, 2023.
Mike was born on June 24, 1959 in Robert Lee, Texas to Joe Edd and Patsy Ladean (Phelps) McCauley. He was a graduate of Whitesboro Independent School district. He married Margie Denise Young on July 10, 1982 in Gainesville, Texas. He enjoyed farming, camping, collecting vintage items and spoiling his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Margie McCauley; daughter, Lauren Hartless and husband, Kevin; son, Joey McCauley and wife, Kayla; daughter, Kadi Roberds and husband, Cody; grandchildren, Keely Hartless, , Pazley McCauley, Tatum McCauley, Briar Roberds, Briley Henry, Ethan Henry, Keaton Williams, and Brinna Williams, brother, Mark McCauley and wife, Donna; sister, Teresa Adams and husband, Donny, brother, Scott McCauley and wife, Tammy; brother-in-law, Jim Young and wife, Sue, brother-in-law, Jeff Young and wife, Yvette; sister-in-law, Terry Freeman; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Patsy McCauley, sister, Stacy Ann McCauley, and brother-in-law, Bobby Freeman.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Hartless, Cody Roberds, Joey McCauley, Wesley McCauley, Zachary McCauley, and Eric Knight.
Funeral Services honoring Mike will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, May 3, 2023 at Meador Funeral Home of Whitesboro, officiated by Rev. Chad McSwain. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Whitesboro. A time of visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, May 2, 2023 at the funeral home.
I’m very saddened with the loss of Mike. He was always willing to help out and could always make you laugh even on rough days. I can speak for everyone at the plant in Port Barre, La when i say the loss of Mike is a loss to us all. He will be missed.

I had just seen Mike at Clovis a few hours earlier that day. he was his same joyful self. I always loved talking to Mike beacause he was always such a good happy fella. Really sad about what happened to him and he will be missed everyday…Rest in peace brother and thanks for being such a good friend.
I’m so very sad to hear this terrible news, he was always happy and talkative when we would meet up at the plant and would have a good conversation while we were loading, he will be missed.
