February 27, 1963 – November 1, 2017 WHITESBORO – Memorial Services for Melissa Ann Manning, 54, will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Whitesboro with Hank Lovejoy officiating. Melissa passed away on Wednesday November 1, 2017 at Texoma Medical Center in Denison.
She was born on February 27, 1963 in Beaumont, Texas to Curt and Joye (Liles) Tisdale. She graduated from Whitesboro High School in 1982 and for a number of years in the 1980’s, owned and operated M. Tisdale Jewelers in Whitesboro. On February 14, 1988, she married Rodger Manning in Whitesboro. Later on, she completed nursing school and worked over twenty years in the medical field. Most recently, she was employed by Angels of Care in Howe as a pediatric nurse. Melissa was a very self-giving person, neglecting her own needs for others. She rescued dogs and was a member of the Denison Animal Welfare Group. She loved spending time with her granddaughter, Kylie. Melissa also enjoyed gardening. When her children were in school, she loved being a band parent, travelling to their competitions and enjoyed cooking for all the band kids. Melissa was a member of the First Baptist Church in Whitesboro.
Survivors include her husband, Rodger Manning of Whitesboro; a daughter, Tiffany Ann Manning and fiancée, Kevin Thompson of Whitesboro; a son, Trevar Wesley Manning and wife, Krista of Helsinki, Finland; two grandchildren, Kylie Rose Polley and Aurora Skye Manning; a brother, Steve Curtis and wife, Jan of Gordonville; an aunt, June Hammond of Duncan, Oklahoma; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Curt and Joye Tisdale; a brother, Mike Curtis; and a sister, Patricia Plummer. http://videos.lifetributes.com/846702
