Malena Faye Butts, 88, of Whitesboro, Texas passed away on November 4, 2021. She was born on March 12, 1933 in Sulphur Springs, Texas to James Martin Turrentine and Zelemmie (Keelin) Turrentine. Malena married Fane Butts in Durant, Oklahoma on July 8, 1963.
She worked at TI for 31 years and was a member of Commerce Street Church of Christ. Malena was a wonderful cook and an avid people watcher.
Malena is survived by daughters; Patsy Gilbert and husband, Tommy of Aubrey, Texas, Judy Walker and husband, Robert of Denison, Texas, Debbie Cantrell of Anna, Texas, Susan Blair and husband, Dwayne of Whitesboro, Texas. 10 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild; brother in laws, Jim Butts and Tommy Wood; a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.
Preceded in death, husband, parents, daughter, Dana Mares, 4 brothers and 5 sisters.
Visitation will be held at Meador Funeral Home, 1204 E. California, Gainesville, Texas from 4:00-6:00 pm on Sunday, November 7, 2021. Funeral service will be held at Meador Chapel on Monday, November 8, 2021 at 2:00 pm, interment to follow at Fairview Cemetery, Gainesville, Texas. Rev. Rick Carney officiating.

Oh, this day came too soon. I was hoping to have her in good health for much longer. She spent so many devoted years to taking care of Fane and her family. We are all going to miss her so much. MALENA was a precious lady. She had that infectious smile and was always so pleasant to be around. We know that she cannot be replaced and will be missed by all who loved and knew her. Our prayers are with her entire family.
