Lola Mae Hawkins, 94, of Whitesboro, Texas was called home to heaven on Saturday, January 25, 2025.
Lola was born on October 11, 1930 in Sadler, Texas to Dewey and Metta (Bullard) Gravette. She married William Ivy Hawkins Jr, in Burns City, Texas on May 2, 1947 and together they raised four children. Lola was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Whitesboro for as long as her health allowed. She enjoyed taking care of her home and her loved ones, doing yard work and gardening.
She is survived by her son, Ronald Hawkins of Southmayd; Dennis “Denny” Hawkins of Whitesboro; Robert “Butch” Hawkins and wife, Linda of Denison; grandchildren, Joe Hawkins and wife, Dustie, Jana Zielke and husband, Lance, Ryan Hawkins, and wife, Danielle, Toni Hawkins, Austin Hawkins, and Heather Hawkins; great-grandchildren, Kensi Hawkins, Liam Hawkins, Sydney Hawkins, Piper Hawkins, Hayden Hawkins, Bella Hawkins, Haylie Hawkins, Brook Hawkins, Amy Surrency, C.J. Morgan, Kaitlyn Bunn, Tate Bunn, Mattie Bunn, Willo Hawkins, Kolbie Hawkins, Kalleigh Hawkins and Rykur Hawkins, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Lola was preceded in death by her parents, Dewey and Metta Gravette, husband, W.I. Hawkins, daughter, Karen Hacker, grandson, Daniel Hawkins, brothers, Carl Gravette, and Bobby Gravette, sisters, Geraldine Lovett and June Trisler.
Graveside services honoring Lola will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at Oakwood Cemetery in Whitesboro, officiated by Rev. Mike Flanagan and Rev. Rick Carney. Currently no formal visitation is scheduled.
