On Tuesday, December 31, 2019 Laurie Sue Corcoran, 59, of Lindsay, Texas strolled her way through the gates of Heaven. Laurie passed away at Medical City Denton surrounded by her loving family.
Laurie was born on November 3, 1960 in Ann Arbor, Michigan to J.D. and Mary E. (Yarasavage) Dodson. Laurie was a 1979 graduate of Whitesboro High School. She was a lifelong Catholic who loved the Lord. She enjoyed cooking for her friends and family. Laurie had a beautiful smile, a vivacious personality, was a kind, compassionate and loving person who had a tremendous love for life and never, ever met a stranger. She loved her family very much, and worshipped her granddaughters. She will be missed by all who knew her and loved her.
She is survived by her husband, John Corcoran, mother, Mary Dodson of Denison; daughter, Cathy Grigsby and husband, Cary of Fort Worth; daughter, Melinda Milner and husband, Matt of Valley View; son, TJ Roberts of Gainesville, granddaughters, Madalynn and Makenna; sister, Mary Beth Farmer and husband, Bobby; sister, Debbie Eldredge and husband, Terry; sister, Paula Dodson; brother, David Dodson and wife, Linda; brother, John Dodson, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, J.D. Dodson.
Funeral services in honor of Laurie will be held at St. Peter’s Church in Lindsay at 10:00 AM on Friday, January 3, 2020, officiated by Father Matthew. Interment will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery in Lindsay. A rosary mass will be held at Meador Funeral Home in Gainesville at 6:00 PM on Thursday, January 2, 2020.
I loved Laurie. We worked together and became good friends over the years. Laurie was always there when anyone needed a shoulder. He smile was infectiously happy. I will miss you my friend.
Anyone who thinks beauty is only skin deep never met Laurie . My heart is heavy for all of her family today. The world is a little darker place this day, but heaven has gained a brighter star. Goodbye my friend .

Loved her smiles n personality as she helped us with my mom’s arrangements in April of 2018 and her help with Dad’s arrangements in September of 2019. She will be sorely missed.
