It’s such a shock to us to learn that Butch is gone and we pray that God will grant his loved ones his divine comfort. We’ve known Butch for most of his life since he came to Valley View and watched him grow into manhood. His father and I were schoolmates and after his father retired from the military and moved back to Valley View, we saw Butch often. We also corresponded with Butch while he served in the military. We will miss him.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you Sherry and the family. Butch was a wonderful man with a great heart! Until we meet again one day, RIP sweet friend.

Every once in a great while some of us are fortunate enough to meet a really special person. Butch was one of those people for me. Even though we didn’t stay in close contact over the years I know if we did chat or whatever it would be like no time had passed. We’d pick up where we left off as if we’d just spoken the day before. Butch was an incredible entertainer too. Always had something witty to say. He was also a tremendous musician. He could play guitar, bass, drums and man…the guy could sing! I’m going to miss him. I know a lot of us will. He was an amazing guy. Rest in peace my brother. Until we meet again…
Sherry and family. Praying for comfort and peace. Praying for your broken hearts. Love you all.

Butch, I love you. Thank you for helping me find the right guitar for myself and for offering to help me teach my Daddy to play. You got all the singing talent in this family because none of the rest of the Dees’ can sing at all. That’s why I play bass. Cousin, I’m proud of Pumpjack Mary and all of the great songs you wrote that I will forever cherish.

You were our Jim Carrey and you were our David Lee Roth all in one person. Beyond that you were a great friend and I’m honored and blessed to have known you. There will never be another like you!
I was connected to Butch on a very strange and spiritual wavelength. We were soul brothers and were always communicating even when we weren’t together. I know you were haunted brother. And I’m grateful and honored to have played a role in your life that helped take that stuff away. You certainly pulled me out of a pit or two along the way. Gina and I will miss you in a big way. I’ve said it before but, I will miss the laughs most of all. I’m not saying goodbye because I know that this is only temporary. We’ll meet again. And it will be glorious! I will honor you by keeping your spirit and memory alive as long as I walk this earth. See you later brother!
All of our love and prayers to Sherry and all family and friends.
Amy Lynn, Sorry!
