Kerry Jo Idell Latham, Loving Wife, Mother and Grandmother.
Kerry Jo Latham, 69 of Collinsville, TX, was born in Longview, TX on May 27, 1955 and passed away in Whitesboro, TX on January 22, 2025 surrounded by her beloved family.
She grew up in Nocona, TX and came to know her Lord and Savior at an early age with the guidance of her loving parents, Pastor W.J. and Lillian Idell. After marrying, she later moved to Gainesville, TX where she became a mother to her two daughters, Gina and Mandy, and later, a grandmother to five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
She graduated from Cooke County College on February 14, 1986 with her degree in Cosmetology. She worked as a hairdresser just shy of 25 years before retiring. During that time, she came to know so many people who she loved, and in turn loved her, including her devoted husband of 25 years, John Latham, a love they both confessed to be a love at first sight.
In addition to her passion for doing hair, she also had a great admiration for animals, nature, dancing, singing, a variety of music and reading, but her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband, John Latham of Collinsville, TX; daughters, Gina Paul of Argyle, TX and Mandy Serna of Whitesboro, TX; brothers, Billy D. Idell and Glen Idell; sisters, Connie Bentley, Glenda O’Byrne and Shaun Sparks; grandchildren, Brittany and Mia Paul, Stefani Tucker and Maddie and Lexi Serna; great grandchildren, Carter, Korbyn, Stoney and Lilah, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, W.J. and Lillian Idell and Johnny Idell; brother, Richard Sparks; sisters, Mary Catherine Windisch, Pat Sparks and Rebecca Sparks.
She will be missed beyond measure, but we will always carry her love in our hearts and find comfort knowing we will see her again in Gods Heavenly Kingdom.
Mom, we love you forever and always.

My Aunt Kerry was like an extra mama to me when I was a child, She took care of me daily. Kerry Jo always had a soft voice and encouraging words, she gave me constant hugs, She guided me, She laughed and teased me. If I was misbehaving, she corrected me. I love her dearly. She is extremely special to me. I have wonderful memories of her. I always loved to hear her sing! I will miss my Aunt. 🤍

I am a part of the blended family that brings us all together. One of the amazing things I can say about Kerrie is that she always included us, she always made sure to tell us hello and bye with hugs and an I love you. She is in a better place but will be dearly missed, until we meet again. ❤️
I loved your mom. She always called us ex-in-laws.
So sorry for Gina and Mandy’s loss of their sweet mother, as well as the rest of the family. I did not know her personally but I do know her daughters and I want to say she did a great job as a mother raising them. Prayers for the family as they try to get through this difficult time. RIP Kerry Jo.
What a beautiful tribute to a lovely lady who left an extraordinary mark on this earth. I rejoice knowing she’s in the arms of Jesus, forever at peace. Many prayers of strength and hope are lifted for all who love and miss her.
“What a day that will be, when my Jesus I shall see. When I look up on his face, the one who saved me by his grace. And when he takes me by the hand and leads me through the promised land…oh what a day that will be.”
