Joseph Michael Turbeville, 53, of Gainesville, Texas passed away on May 20, 2024. He was born on April 10, 1971, in Muenster, Texas to Michael Turbeville and Judy (Montry) Turbeville. He graduated from Gainesville High School, and he continued playing baseball at Tarleton State. Joe enlisted in the Air Force in 1994, serving 6 years as a crew chief on a C5 aircraft. He was stationed at Dover Air Force Base in Delaware, and Altus Air Force Base in Oklahoma. Joe was employed as an Engineer for the BNSF Railroad. He loved to play golf and was a Texas Longhorn fan. In his earlier years, he also loved to fish at Leeper Lake. He also loved to cook from his Grandad’s cookbook. His specialties were pecan pie & Turby’s secret sauce. Joe’s greatest accomplishments were his three boys. He was so proud and was always bragging about them.
Joseph is survived by his sons, Tyler Turbeville, and fiancé Hannah; Hunter Lane Turbeville and Joseph Walker Turbeville; mother, Judy Turbeville; father, Michael Turbeville; siblings, Scott Wayne Turbeville and wife, Carrie; Tara Haverkamp and husband, Zach. Also, his nieces and nephews, Blair Haverkamp, Logan Haverkamp, Rileigh Turbeville & Kinzy Turbeville; along with numerous friends and family.
Preceded in death by Grandparents, Clarence Smith Turbeville, “Grandad,” Lillian Marie Turbeville, “Nena,” Joseph Montry, “Papa”, and Bertha Montry, “Mema”.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 24, 2024, at 6:00 pm with visitation to follow at Meador Funeral Home, 1204 E. California Street, Gainesville, Texas. Cremation arrangements will be held under the direction of Meador Funeral Home.
