Johnny Vitela Hernandez, 73, of Collinsville, Texas was called to his eternal home on Monday, March 24, 2025.
Johnny was born on June 26, 1951 in Childress, Texas to Mike and Dominga (Vitela) Hernandez. He married Vivian Chambless on October 2, 1972 in Sherman, Texas. Johnny was a hardworking man he worked as a boat builder for Cedar Mills Marina. He enjoyed woodworking, drawing and his family.
He is survived by his wife, Vivian Hernandez of Collinsville; son, Anthony Hernandez of Denison; son, John Hernandez of Collinsville; daughter, Lena Hernandez of Collinsville; and Ricky Hernandez of Dallas; grandchildren, Isaac, Tony, Ezekial, Alex, Grayson, Braxton, Elizabeth, Ryland, Olivia, Cooper, and Hadleigh, brother, Bobby Hernandez of Childress; sister, Rosie Abrego of Collinsville, and sister, Betty Hernandez of Gainesville; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends.
Johnny was preceded in death by his parents, Mike and Dominga Hernandez, five brothers, Joe, Frank, Junior, Charlie and Raymond Hernandez, sisters, Mary Ragsdale, Esperanza Hernandez, and Maria Hernandez.
Pallbearers will be Isaac,Tony, Ezekial, Andy, Ricky and Michael.
Funeral services honoring Johnny will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, March 31, 2025 at Meador Funeral Home of Whitesboro, officiated by Rev. Raymond England. A time of visitation will be held on Sunday, March 30, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Meador Funeral Home.
