Jimmy Dan Norris, 73, of Gainesville, Texas passed away on October 1, 2019 at Texoma Medical Center in Denison, Texas. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, October 4, 2019 at Tioga Cemetery in Tioga, Texas. A visitation will be held at Meador Funeral Home of Gainesville on Thursday, October 3, 2019 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
Dan was born on November 8, 1945 to Arvel and Mamie Norris. He married Jackie Hill on October 26, 1972 in Gainesville, Texas. Dan loved his family very much and enjoyed spending time with them. Dan’s other hobbies included playing pool and fishing.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Jackie Norris of Oakridge, Texas; daughter, Vicky Hughs of Gainesville, Texas; granddaughter, Cheyenne Hughs; grandson, Cody Hughs; great-grandson, Kallen Graham; sister, Darlene Smith of Gainesville, Texas; nephew, Buryl Norris of Gainesville, Texas; uncle, Tommy Norris of Kingston, Oklahoma; Nieces, Becca Wood and Patsy Murphy; aunt, Pat Gosdin of Shreveport, Louisiana; cousin’s, Dusta Gosdin-Killgore of Houston, Texas, Bill Gosdin of Shreveport, Louisiana, Rhonda Howard of Tioga, Texas and Sheila Flatt of Van Alstyne, Texas.
Dan is preceded in death by his parents, Arvel and Mamie Norris; brother, William Norris and grandson, Kenneth Mitchell Sanders.
Pallbearers will be Steve Langston, BJay Oglesby, Randy Chambers, Nate Holmes, Buryl Norris, Richard Benavides and Cameron Wilson.
I love you uncle Dan. You will be greatly missed.

I’m so sorry for your loss, I know thru Darlene and Kerry, Chelsea what a great man he was. It’s a blessing he was a part of my children’s life as well as his brother.
Dan you will be missed immensely. I always loved to hear you tell the stories from back in the day. It’s not goodby but so long for now. Love you cousin.
