James Joseph Coder, Sr., 89, of Gainesville, Texas passed away from this life on Tuesday, January 22 at Texoma Medical Center in Denison, under the care of At Home Hospice.
Mr. Coder was born in Mishawaka, Indiana to Adelbert Samuel and Agnes Josephine “Peggy” (Emery) Coder. He graduated from Mishawaka High School. Jim married his wife of 55 years, Elizabeth Ann “Betty” Nandell on August 26, 1953 in Mishawaka; and together they raised four sons. He was employed by Kwik-Way Manufacturing of Marion, Iowa as their Southwest Regional Manager in Dallas for 29 years.
Mr. Coder was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Betty and son, Hugh Lee Coder. He is survived by son, James J. “Jim” Coder, Jr. and wife, Davia of Gordonville, son, Craig Emery Coder and wife, Dianne of Mineola, Texas and son, Paul Michael Coder of Gainesville, beloved and loyal friends Rusty and Michelle Barker, along with six grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Cremation is under the direction of Meador Funeral Home of Gainesville. No services are planned at this time.

To a great friend and neighbor… I am a bit late in finding out, but our family loved you and Betty Like close family. A lot of memories our families shared over the many years. I know I speak for the rest of the Peck family in saying that you were greatly loved my friend.
He was my friend and I thought a lot of him. He helped me a lot when I was getting started.He was a great guy and a straight shooter.
