February 5, 1931 – May 18, 2017 James Andrew Puckett, 86, passed away Thursday, May 118, 2017 at his residence in Gainesville. He was born in Ardmore, Oklahoma on February 5, 1931 to James S. Puckett and Ruby (Wilson) Puckett. He married Marva Hatfield on January 16, 1953. He graduated from North Texas State University. He was a US Navy Veteran in the Korean Conflict. Mr. Puckett was a Mason for 50 years, an active Shriner, past president of Campfire for Girls and past president of Nascoga.
Funeral Services will be held 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 24th at Meador Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Todd Stevens officiating. Jay Puckett, III, Aaron Puckett, Travis Puckett, Cory Woodard, Camron Woodard, Kendall Puckett, Matthew Puckett and Trey Bettencourt will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be held at Meador Funeral Home, Gainesville Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Survivors include children; Jay Puckett ,Jr. and wife Martha of Gainesville, Jeff Puckett and wife Leila of Fort Worth, Renee Frazier & James Woodard of Gainesville, Charles Puckett of Norman, Oklahoma; 14 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, 3 sisters and 2 daughters in law.
