Iva Mae Young, 96 of Arlington, Texas passed away on May 25, 2021. She was born on May 7, 1925 in Anderson, Missouri to Archie Lee Van Winkle and Iva Leah (McCully) Van Winkle. She married A.E. Young who preceded her in death.
Iva Mae was a devout Christian and God fearing woman. Wonderful mother, grandmother and great and great-grandmother who loved all children. She also helped raise many and ran a daycare for many years. She loved reading her bible and sharing with others to practice what she read.
Iva Mae is survived by: sons, Elmore Bergen Young of Sapulpa, Oklahoma; Bernard Lee Young of Baytown, Texas; Arlis E. Young and wife, Carolyn of Corpus Christi, Texas; daughter, Natalie & Don Griffin of Arlington, Texas; grandchildren, Shannon Young, Michelle Young, Brandi Pender, Bethany Thurlow, Bonnie Marshall, Shelby Griffin and Tanya Skinner; 6 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Preceded in Death: parents, husband, 6 siblings, grandson, Nicholas Shane Griffin.
Home at Last –
Do not cry for me, all the pain and grief have passed-I am at the side of Jesus, at peace forever, Home at last.
There will be a visitation on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 from 12:00 pm-2:00 pm followed by a Memorial Service at 2:00 p.m at Meador Funeral Home Chapel, 1204 E. California Street, Gainesville, Texas.

Mrs Young had a very caring heart and was always helping anyone that needed help. She was a great woman.

Iva May…you were such an inspiration to your daughter and granddaughter. Thru them I knew you. I am saddened that such a vital force ia fone from our lives but I know we will meet on the other side.

I never got to meet Mrs.Young in person but through Natalie’s wonderful stories and photos, I could tell she was a true firecracker who can never be replaced. May she Rest In Peace and her family be comforted with great memories of her. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
