March 3, 1928 – August 12, 2012 GAINESVILLE â?? Funeral services for Henry J. Mailloux, 84, will be held Wednesday, August 15, 2012, at 10 a.m. at the Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Whitesboro, Texas. Interment will follow the service at Jackson Cemetery in Krum, Texas. There will be no visitation service.He passed away on August 12, 2012 in Sherman, Texas.
Henry Joseph Paul Mailloux was born on March 3, 1928, in Fall River, Massachusetts to Alphonse Joseph and Florida (Jarvis) Mailloux. He proudly served his country as a member of the U. S. Air Force during World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. He was an active supporter of all Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW). After his retirement from the U.S.A.F., he served 20 years with the Federal Government, he managed a 5-state area of government owned and leased properties. He was also a participant in the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. Upon his retirement from the federal government, he volunteered his services to the city of Whitesboro, Texas, as the emergency management coordinator for approximately 10 or more years. He also assisted in the establishment of the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Mission in Whitesboro, Texas. Upon moving to Gainesville, Texas, he continued to donate his time and services to his community through volunteerism at the Buried Treasurers Thrift Store. He made crosses and gave them out to churches, businesses and individuals. He would say, â??Donâ??t thank me, thank God.â? He loved being a secret Santa, making wooden toys and filling them with crayons and books in Whitesboro, Texas for many, many years.
He is survived by his children: Thomas Ira Mailloux of Oklahoma; Betty Anne Blackmon and husband, Paul, of Lake Worth, TX; Doris Lynne Mailloux-Dobiyanski and husband, Bill, of Plano, TX; nine grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and his nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wives: Thelma Garner Mailloux; Geraldine Goodman Mailloux; and Peggy Webb Mailloux; his son, Paul Mailloux; and his daughters, Valerie Steigent and Eilene Martinez; his parents, Alphonse and Florida Mailloux; and seven siblings.
