Gladys Lucille Epperson,85, of Valley View passed away on January 13, 2021 at the North Texas Medical Center in Gainesville. Graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 18th, 2021 at the Valley View Cemetery with Bro. Hollis Parsons officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, January 17th, 2021 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Gainesville, 1204 E. California Street, Gainesville, Texas
Gladys was born on December 10th, 1935 to Henry and Dora Hassenpflug in Valley View. She married Billy Ray Epperson on March 14th, 1953 in Decatur, TX. Gladys worked for the Gainesville hospital for many years as a CNA. She loved to play bingo and she loved to cook for her family. She loved helping her husband on the farm with the cattle. Gladys loved her dogs and most of all loved her grandchildren and spending time with them.
She is survived by her grandchildren Felicia Hull and her husband Shawn of Gainesville, Jason Williams of Valley View, Aaron Epperson, Clint Epperson; great-grandchildren, Landon Hull and Brea Williams. Gladys is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Gladys is preceded in death by her husband Billy Ray Epperson; children Debra, Victor and Christopher; two brothers Melvin Hassenpflug and Elmer Hassenpflug.
In support of our local, state, and federal government including CDC directives and to protect the physical health, safety and well-being of our community, social distancing and the wearing of masks while attending the funeral services and visitation will be observed.
It’s my prayer that God will grant all of Gladys’s love ones his divine healing comfort in their grief. Gladys was a school mate for many years at Valley View and a wonderful person with a very kind heart. She will be deeply missed and leaves the wonderful legacy of her life to everyone that knew her.
