George William Rue, 81, of Whitesboro, Texas was called to his eternal home on Friday, April 11, 2025.
George was born on January 24, 1944 in Whitesboro, Texas to GW and Nellie Ruth (Earnhart) Rue. He was a graduate of Whitesboro High School and attended college at Grayson County College. George served proudly in the United States Army. On August 2, 1969 he married Sephronia Inez Reedy in Whitesboro, and they were married for 47 years prior to her passing. They settled down together in Whitesboro to raise their two daughters. George worked for Anderson Clayton Foods in Sherman and then went on to work for and retire from the United States Postal Service in Sherman. He loved to work outside, and his home reflected that in the beautiful yard that he kept. George was immensely proud of his family and especially his daughters.
He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Rue of Red Oak; daughter, Melaine Rue of Red Oak; brother, Rex Rue and wife, Judy of Whitesboro; brother-in-law, BB Reedy and wife, Rhonda of Whitesboro; sister-in-law, Alice Ivy and husband, Tommy of Murchison; as well as numerous, nieces and nephews.
George was preceded in death by his wife, Sephronia Rue, parents, GW and Nellie Rue, nephew, Ryan Rue, and in-laws, Buster and Opal Reedy.
Graveside services honoring George will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, April 14, 2025 at Oakwood Cemetery in Whitesboro, officiated by Rev. Rick Carney. A time of visitation will be held at the cemetery beginning at 1:30 PM on Monday prior to the service.

I am so very sorry for the passing of this sweet man.I have known George as far back as I can remember as my parents and his parents were friends and neighbors.

Very sorry to hear of George’s passing. Unfortunately our paths did not cross too many times after graduation except for when we discovered a common interest in Canton. Always enjoyed reliving our days in B’ City. Great Guy.
