April 9, 1943 –  August 1, 2014  Gary Wayne Hite, 71, of Whitesboro, Texas, was born April 9, 1943 and passed away August 1, 2014 at Harris Methodist Hospital in Ft. Worth. He was born to John and Lorene Hite in Whitesboro.Survivors are sons: Shane Hite of Port Arthur and G. W. Hite, Jr. of Whitesboro; grandchildren: Katy Hite, Heather Hite, and Jason Stevenson. He had many friends who cared for him and his cousins, Karen Young and Shirley Bolton, were his special caregivers. His aunt, Elizabeth Hite, of Collinsville, was also involved in Gary’s well-being.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, John and Lorene Hite; his grand-parents; and his wife, Grace Hite, who passed away in 2009.
Gary spent most of his adult life in California and returned to Whitesboro in 2006. He had a special dog, Lucky, who misses him. Gary’s favorite hobby was fishing in Lake Texoma. He gave away most of the fish he caught to friends and neighbors. His giving nature was his best quality.
