Elva Magdaline Chapman, 96, of Whitesboro, Texas was called to her eternal home on Tuesday, March 18, 2025,
Elva was born on March 20, 1928 in Broughton, Illinois, to Ira Rolley and Wreatha (Johnson) Oeth. She married Forrest Chapman on December 1, 1946 in Kentucky. She was a wonderful cook and was able to play both the piano and the accordion by ear.
She is survived by her son, Forrest Charles Chapman of Whitesboro; daughter, Wreatha Sturgill and husband, Gene of New Mexico; grandchildren, Raymond Alford and wife, Jessica, Valerie Alford, grandchildren, Kaci Saiz, Misty Curry, and Heather Chapman, and great-grandchildren, Stephenn, Payden, and Astra, Tristan, Alexis and Gracie.
Elva was preceded in death by her husband, Forrest Chapman, parents, Ira and Wreatha Oeth, daughters, Nola Chapman, and Leslie Chapman, and brothers, Charles and Ira Oeth.
Graveside services honoring Elva will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, March 24, 2025 at Oakwood Cemetery in Whitesboro. A time of visitation for family and friends will be held from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Sunday, March 23, 2025 at Meador Funeral Home of Whitesboro.
