April 4, 1940 – July 14, 2016 A graveside service for Edith Deloris Vaughn, 76, of Whitesboro, will be held Monday, July 18, 2016, at 2 p.m. at Tioga Cemetery with the Rev. Jason Thurston officiating. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at Meador Funeral Home Chapel, prior to the service.
She passed away at her home on Thursday, July 14, 2016 with her family by her side after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born to Robert David and Dorothy Viola (Skaggs) Meek on April 4, 1940, in Gainesville.
Edith was a long time resident of Western Grayson County. Her family gave her joy and she was most proud of many grandchildren and, later, their many children.
Edith was the rock of her family. She always maintained grace and stability through life’s many trials including the loss of two sons, five brothers and (most recently) a grandson.
Her family finds comfort knowing she has been reunited with them now.
She is survived by her son, Randy Riddels and wife, Sara of Whitesboro; daughters, Cindy Trehern and husband, John of Bennington, Oklahoma and Connie Bowman and husband, Alfred of Collinsville; a brother, Dale Meek of Forestburg; 23 grandchildren, and 45 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by parents, Robert and Dorothy Meek; two sons, Greg and Alan Riddels, grandson, Greg C. Riddels, II and brothers, Robert Meek, Donald Meek, Herbert Meek, Charles Meek and James Meek.
Pallbearers will be grandsons Royce Mitchell, Seth Mitchell, Heath Mitchell, Chris Riddels, Andy Riddels, Brian Morgan, Michael Morgan and Casey Riddels.
