February 12, 1927 – March 5, 2017 Funeral Services for David Louis Hill, 90 of Whitesboro, Texas will be held Saturday, March 11, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Adam Spore officiating. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service at 1:00 p.m. at the church. Meador Funeral Home of Whitesboro, Texas is in charge of arrangements. He passed away Sunday, March 5th at his home in Whitesboro with his family by his side.David was born to David Gomez and Thelma Henry (Chapman) Hill on February 12, 1927 in Ft. Worth, Texas. He married Gladys Lucile Leach on June 30, 1930 in Ft. Worth. David worked in the aircraft industry in Ft. Worth was a World War II Veteran and a member of Naval Air Core Reserves. He loved to fish and work in his garden, as well as farm and raise cattle. David built his and Lucy’s home on Riley Road. He enjoyed taking photos of his family and he and Lucy loved to travel. David was strong in his Christian faith and loved to sing for his Lord. He was always there for others and will be missed by friends and family.
He is survived by his wife, Lucy Hill of Whitesboro; daughters, Karen Walker and husband, John of Whitesboro and Karmen Grimes and husband, Dale of Salado; daughter-in-law, Judy Hill and sister-in-law, Inez Leach; 6 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
