David Gary “Buck” Bennett, 78, of Sherman, Texas was called to his eternal home on Thursday, April 11, 2024.
Buck was born on June 29, 1945 in Sherman, Texas to David Randle and Jewell (Rawlins) Bennett. He attended schools at Sadler Consolidated ISD in Sadler, Texas. He enjoyed working on his truck, dozer (even after he accidentally put it in gear and ran over his foot with it), and all his other equipment around his shop. He was especially proud of his brand-new tractor and F250 truck. Buck was a very hard worker who never met a stranger and always enjoyed making people laugh by being the life of the party. He was a man who loved his family and friends and will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Thelma Bennett of Sherman, son, Isaac Bennet and wife, Lauren of Corinth, grandchildren, Drew, Addyson, and Michael, niece, Robin Bell and husband, John of Sadler, great-nieces Jaclyn Bell and Casey Willis and great-nephews Hank and Will Bennett.
Buck was preceded in death by his parents, David and Jewell Bennett, his brother, Jerry Bennett, sister, Betty Neasbitt, and his nephew, Randy Bennett.
Graveside services honoring Buck will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, April 25, 2024 at Kendall Chapel Cemetery in Southmayd. A time of visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, April 25, 2024 at Meador Funeral Home of Whitesboro from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM.
Schoolmate and friend. Lived in same area growing up with Dana Beth Wright and Mike Wright. Richard and Walter Wright. We rode horses and walked across pastures to gather together. Good memories!
Thoughts and prayers for the Bennett family, we are so sorry for your loss.
