Connie Jean Eighme Oberle, 66 years old, passed to the arms of the Lord on Saturday, March 1, 2025.
She was born in Creston, Iowa, to Lawrence Dean and Virginia Grace (Mosby) Eighme on November 21, 1958. Connie grew up in Kearney, Nebraska where she met and married Scott Oberle. They have been married for over 46 years and have lived in North Texas since 1999. Connie graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1981. She taught students in various grades from 1982 to 2020, when she retired from Allen ISD (TX) where she taught 6th grade and spent her final 21 years in education.
She was preceded in death by her father Lawrence Dean Eighme.
Connie is survived by her husband, Scott Oberle of Gordonville, TX; daughter, Lyndsey Girramita and her husband, Joe; grandchildren, Wesley and Laylah Girramita of Melissa, TX; mother, Virginia Eighme of Overland Park, KS; brother, Larry and his wife Gretchen of Overland Park, KS; and other loving extended family.
Connie was an active member of the Whitesboro United Methodist Church. She enjoyed spending time with family, cooking, sewing, golf, music, gardening, and being outside appreciating nature. Most importantly she was a compassionate woman of strong Christian faith. She lived her faith, exemplifying it continually with family, friends, students, and anyone she met under any circumstances.
At her request, the celebration of her life will be a private family service. In lieu of flowers, her family is requesting a contribution be made in her honor to the American Cancer Society at https://www.cancer.org/donate.html.
So very sorry for her family’s loss. She was my children’s teacher at Evans Elementary and the kids just loved her! She had a very positive influence on my kids and we are saddened to hear of her passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.
A kind teacher that exhibited grace and encouragement, Mrs. Connie Oberle exemplified exactly that to all four of my Abiog girls, Lauren, Sarah, Haley and Esther. To love math and not to be afraid of a tough challenge when trying to achieve success. These skills were developed for life’s ups and downs under her watchful eye. Our hearts are broken; the world has lost a brilliant lady. Sending love and prayers to the Oberle and Evans Elementary families.
My kids were so blessed to have her as a teacher at Evans. She was so gifted, kind, funny and had a gift for teaching math. I know she was loved by many and my heart aches for her family and friends. We feel very blessed to have known her and may God give you the strength, peace and comfort you need while you grieve.
Prayers for the family of Connie, though we lost touch she was a Great youthful friend from Kearney,Nebraska. She was always a delightful person to hang with at church, in band and her family was always a joy to be with. I’m sure her brightness has made Heaven even brighter. Prayers to all who could be Friend!
Sending heartfelt condolences to her family. As a school namesake, I was honored and proud that Connie was a sixth grade teacher that helped open Evans Elementary. She was loved by her students and
admired by her peers! May God give you peace and comfort during this difficult time and you find blessings in your beautiful memories of Connie. 💜🙏💜

Sincere condolences as you celebrate a life well lived. Connie was my dear friend from Kearney, I treasured our friendship over the years. She was fiercely loyal, faithful, compassionate and such an amazing listener. Our phone conversations lasted for hours as we picked up from where we were last, many times it was years, but we always reconnected immediately. We lived states apart for our adult years but we hoped to see each other more in our retirement . I was there when she met Scott, and it was love instantly. Scott you two were a power team, a couple to be admired and I know your angel will be with you and your family in the difficult days ahead. She’s forever in our hearts and we will continue to share her stories. Connie’s beautiful memories will live on, speak of her often Scott, Lyndsey, Joe, Wesley, Laylah and family. I know I will continue to talk with her for hours.
Rod and I send our love, hugs and prayers.
Connie was a true treasure. She could make you laugh and hand you a hard truth with equal effort. Her humor and strength will be missed.
I’m so sorry to hear of this loss. Connie was not only a fantastic teacher but a good friend during the years I spent at Evans. She will surely be missed.
It was a joy and a privilege to teach sixth grade with Connie for six years. She was a role model as a colleague and as a Christian. She had a way of relating to students and their parents that was at the same time firm, compassionate, and humorous! I will always hear her voice proclaiming, “It’s another glorious day in math!” I’m so thankful that she was my daughter’s math teacher and the leader of our sixth grade team.
I’ll never forget working with Connie at Middletown United Methodist Preschool. She was wonderful with the students, parents and staff! We were a very close group of coworkers that became friends!
I was the assistant principal at Rountree where Connie taught 6 th grade. She was a fantastic 6th grade math teacher. She positively touched so many students and their parents as well. I was proud to call Connie my friend. She did much to make Rountree a great place to work. So sorry for the loss.
Sending my deepest condolences to the family. I had the privilege of working with Connie and the honor of watching her in action with her students. It was magical to watch her encourage students to embrace a challenge and support them achieve their goals. She will be missed by many but her memory will be a blessing to all who knew her.
Connie was in my Bible study group last year and I so enjoyed her sharing what God was teaching her! I am so sad to hear of her passing but know she is celebrating being in the Lord’s presence. Praying for her family!
Mrs. Oberle was a wonderful teacher. She will be greatly missed. May your family find comfort in God during this time.
We are so saddened to hear of Connie’s passing. Both of us have wonderful memories of her from our GE trips and functions over the years. Our deepest sympathies to your family.
Dear Scott,
We are so sad to hear this news about Connie. Though we didn’t spend so many times together, I knew enough to remember your daughter by name, because she spoke of her so much. I can’t imagine you without Connie by your side. I will always remember you guys as an important part of our GE family and friends with such fond memories and all our outings together. May the Holy Spirit surround you and your family with the peace that passes all understanding. ❤️
Scott,
I send to you and your family my heartfelt sorrow for the loss of Connie. I remember so well the day I heard she would like to be a part of opening Mary Evans Elementary. I had never met Connie, however her incredible reputation as a teacher preceded her. I was thrilled to schedule a meeting with her. Her Christian values, enthusiasm for teaching and sense of humor were evident in our meeting. I quickly signed her on to become a charter staff member. Her sense of humor kept us going on challenging days, her dedication served as an inspiration and her determination for both students and colleagues to be successful held no boundaries. Blessed to have known her and to call her my colleague and friend.
Continued prayers for you and your family.

Mr. Oberle,
Mrs. Oberle was the best and most significant teacher in my life! Her presence will truly be missed. Prayers to the Oberle family during such a tough time. She taught us so much and touched so many hearts and cared so deeply about every one of her students. May she rest in peace.
Connie was the only teaching partner I had for my entire educational career. Together we made certain Rountree kiddos knew how to golf and that the kiddos knew our 6th grade classrooms were a safe space. Together we opened Evans elementary and were delighted to bring our “Oberle & Maddog” magic to another group of kiddos. We laughed. We cried. We delighted in the advanced of our students. We held each other accountable and I became a better educator because of her. Connie is woven into the fabric of my life. She made certain my two children were successful in math. She tutored me through statistics when I was getting my master’s degree. I still remember the two of us laughing after school so hard that we lost our breath. I’m sending so much love to you all. Connie truly was one in a million and every time I hear Fleetwood Mac, I’ll send her love.
Scott: Connie was such a bright spot in this world. We enjoyed the dinner group that you and Connie led while you were at SUMC. We pray that you find comfort in family and friends during this difficult time. May God’s peace fill your heart and soul.

Yes Penny!
And she went on to doing the same and more under Pam’s leadership at Evan’s Elementary. I was privileged to teach with her at 2 different schools. She was a dynamo and a privilege to know and work with!
Please know that our prayers for peace and comfort continue during this most difficult time. We really wish that we could be there with you today but are glad that you have each other. With Love, Andy and Renee Mosby
