November 15, 1933 – August 27, 2016 Graveside Services for Billy Ray Parish, 82, of Whitesboro, Texas, will be held Tuesday, August 30, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. at Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Sulphur Springs/Cumby, Texas, with Rev. Mike Flanagan officiating. Bill will lie in state at Meador Funeral Home, Whitesboro, Texas, with a visitation from noon until 6:00 p.m. on Monday, August 29th. Bill passed away at his home on Saturday, August 27, 2016, with all his loved ones by his side.He was born to Wilsie and Effie Jane (Harris) Parish on November 15, 1933, in Fairly, Texas. He married Jean Moseley on January 2, 1955, in Cumby, Texas. Bill served in the U.S. Army and was a member of First Baptist Church, Whitesboro. He was a member of the Whitesboro Rotary Club for 20 years and worked tirelessly as a volunteer for many years for the Red Cross, having helped in New York after the September 11th attack. Bill worked for Foxworth-Galbraith for over 38 years. He served for several years on the Whitesboro ISD School Board.
The family would like to thank Heart to Heart Hospice for their loving and excellent care of Bill during these last difficult days.
He is survived by his wife, Jean of Whitesboro; daughter, Vicki Short of Whitesboro; sons, Brian Parish and wife, Jane of Whitesboro and David Parish and wife, Wendy of Kona, Hawaii; grandsons, Matthew Parish and wife, Megan of Little Elm, Michael Parish and wife, Amber of Whitesboro, Mitchel Parish of Tempe, AZ and Conner Short of Denton; great-granddaughters, Emma Grace Parish and Sophie Quinn Parish.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilsie and Effie Parish; sister, Dorothy Gaines and brother, Walt Parish.
