Billy Joe Gray, 84, of Gordonville, Texas was called to his eternal home in the early hours of Monday, December 25, 2023.
Billy was born on July 16, 1939 in Denton, Texas to Lee Roy and Ruby (Bowles) Gray. He worked for over 30 years as a truck driver for Alan Ritchey. He enjoyed fishing, RV camping, and boating on the lake. He treasured his family time and the family reunions in Arkansas. His children and grandchildren were his pride and joy.
He is survived by his daughter, Karen Elaine Hobbs of Sanger; son, Billy Don Gray and wife, Amy of Gordonville; son Tommy Wayne Gray and wife, Barbara of Era; eight grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, brother, Dewayne Gray and wife, Shirley of Gordonville; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving family members.
Billy was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Gray, parents, Lee Roy and Ruby Gray, sister, Helen Jakeway and brother, Wayne Gray.
Funeral services honoring Billy will be held on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at Meador Funeral Home of Whitesboro beginning at 2:00 PM, officiated by Rev. Rick Carney. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Whitesboro. A time of visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday beginning at 12:00 PM at the funeral home.
