Beverly Ann Brown, 84, of Whitesboro, Texas was called home to Heaven on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.
Beverly was born on August 6, 1939 in Gordonville, Texas to Elmer Lewis and Fay (Steedman) Williams. She was a graduate of Whitesboro High School and University of North Texas. Beverly married Harrell D. Brown in 1961 and together they built a family and home in Whitesboro. She taught school for many years at Whitesboro Elementary as well as teaching in Huckabee and Stephenville. Beverly was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Whitesboro, the Retired Teacher’s Association and PEO. She sang with the church choir for over 30 years. She enjoyed traveling and she was an avid reader. Beverly’s greatest joy in life was her family, especially her grandchildren, she cherished each moment with them.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harrell Brown, parents, Elmer and Fay Williams, sisters, Virginia Dell Walling, Christine Smith, Rosemary McAmis, and brother, Lawrence Williams.
Beverly is survived by her son, Kevin Brown and wife, Bridget of Boerne; daughter, Kelly McCorkle and husband, Jimmy of Gordonville; grandchildren, Brandon Brown, Bryce Brown, Brooks Brown, David McCorkle, Jake McCorkle, and Maggie McCorkle, sister, Linda Hansard and husband, Jimmy, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her honor to First United Methodist Church in Whitesboro at https://www.whitesborofumc.org/give.
Graveside services honoring Beverly will be held at 4:00 PM on Friday, February 2, 2024 at Oakwood Cemetery in Whitesboro, officiated by Rev. Doyle Henderson and Rev. Chad McSwain. Currently no formal visitation is scheduled.
