Betty was born on April 16, 1933 in Wilbarger County, Texas to Leonard Burl and Irma Elizabeth (Eure) Hoke. She met the love of her life while attending college at the University of North Texas. She worked as a florist assistant and at an insurance company in Whitesboro. She retired from Whitesboro ISD where she worked for many years as a teaching assistant. She and Wayman were a very strong couple and she supported him behind the scenes throughout his career. Betty enjoyed cooking and working with her flower gardens. She cherished the role of wife, mother and grandmother and loved caring for her family.
She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Mesker of Whitewright; daughter, Pam Burden Reed and husband, Paul of Conway, Arkansas; grandchildren David Eldredge and wife, JJ, Susan Barrett and husband, Jeremiah, John Burden and wife, Katie, great-grandchildren, Cole Eldredge, Regan Eldredge, Juno Burden, Jules Barrett, and Beatrix Barrett, great-great-grandchildren, Jace Eldredge, Gatsby Eldredge, and Harvey Eldredge, sister, Sandy Hammer and husband, Nolan, sister-in-law, Venita Lindsey, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Betty was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Wayman Chilcutt, son, Windle Chilcutt, parents, Leonard and Irma Hoke, and in-laws, Bill and Pauline Chilcutt. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her honor to the First United Church Building Fund or to the charity of your choice.

It is with a heavy heart that we write this note concerning your Mother’s passing and due to a previous commitment we could not be there to support you at Betty’s Funeral.
Betty was a very sweet, thoughtful and caring Lady. Always dressed to the tee. Always smiling and supportive to me and the teachers and the Students she loved. Lots of great memories from those Junior High years and after her retirement with the West Grayson Retired Teachers.
Waymon & Betty, what a wonderful couple! You hardly saw one without the other. Betty is now celebrating in heaven with Windle and Waymon.
We loved both your parents so very much. Our prayers will continue for you and your Families.
