Naomi M. Bates, 95, was called to her eternal home on January 31, 2023 in Front Royal, Virginia.
Naomi was born on April 30, 1927 in Gordonville, Texas to Ezell and Charlie Bates. She married Herman Feltz in Sherman, Texas in 1949. His job eventually took them to Arlington, Virginia where she worked and retired from Arlington Hospital as a switchboard operator. Together they raised three children. Naomi enjoyed sewing, reading, crossword puzzles, poetry, and her garden. She also enjoyed shopping at Goodwill and going to thrift stores. She loved to cook, enjoyed anything fried, watching storms roll in and her dogs. She loved her family greatly.
She is survived by her daughter, Karen Eddington, daughter, Melnee Amstutz, son, Max Feltz, four beautiful grandchildren, Brandon Feltz, Katelyn Amstutz, Emily Constantino, and Heather Wolf, as well as her great-grandson, Kendrick Johnson.
Naomi was preceded in death by her parents, Ezell and Charlie Bates, husband, Herman Feltz, and four brothers, Dale, Carl, Leon and Max Bates.
A memorial service honoring Naomi will be held on Friday, March 10, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Meador Funeral Home of Whitesboro, officiated by Rev. Rick Carney. An inurnment will follow at Gordonville Cemetery in Gordonville, Texas.
