Jo Helen Carney, 83, of Collinsville, Texas was called home to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 1, 2023.
Jo was born in Van Alstyne, Texas on March 4, 1939 to Rudolph and Ivey (Dyer) Fox. She married Clifford Carney in Durant, Oklahoma in 1973. Jo loved to serve and help people and was able to do that in her over 50-year career as a nurse. In 1993 Jo won nurse of the year. She enjoyed fishing and hunting with her husband, Clifford. Jo loved her family and cherished the time she spent with each one of them.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Clifford Carney of Collinsville; son, Grady Carney and wife, Donna of Collinsville; son, Davis Wayne Carney of Dallas; grandchildren, Kyle Carney, Cody Carney, Colt Carney and Cade Carney; great-grandchildren, Nevaeh Carney and Ivey Carney; sisters, Phyllis Neal of Oklahoma; Katie Harper of Arkansas; Marlene Pecina of Gunter; Darlene Reed of Gunter; Belinda Collingsworth of Whitewright; brother, Vick Fox of Van Alstyne; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and other loving family and friends.
Jo was preceded in death by her parents, Rudolph and Ivey Fox, daughter, Carla Climer, brothers, Robert Fox, Kenneth Fox, Jerry Fox and sister, Nelda Tippie.
Funeral Services honoring Jo will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, January 6, 2023 at Meador Funeral Home of Whitesboro, officiated by Ricky Patterson. Interment will follow at Collinsville Cemetery. A time of visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.

When my Aunt Margaret was in the care home, Jo would come to her room and visit with her, She was a thoughtful, caring nurse.
Jo was such a caring and sweet person and an inspiration to everyone who knew her. My thoughts and prayers are with you . May you find comfort in your wonderful memories.
